I’m Paris Permenter and my husband, John Bigley, and I live in a protected preserve for the endangered Golden-cheeked Warbler, part of the Balcones Canyonlands Preserve system outside Austin, Texas.
We are focused on not only observing birds in our own backyard but also finding ways to minimize our impact on the environment so these birds–and all the wildlife we share this land with–can thrive.
Through the years, we’ve written about enjoying birds around the world in travel guidebooks ranging from Adventure Guide to Jamaica and Adventure Guide to the Cayman Islands to Day Trips from Austin.
Our magazine articles have covered topics from hummingbird migration for Texas Highways and WildBird magazines to life with a dog and a duck for Reader’s Digest magazine.
